Prayer is a Powerful Tool that can make a Difference in Your Life!
Prayer is a powerful tool that has the ability to transform our lives, give us comfort, and connect us to God. It is what draws us closer in our relationship with Jesus. Prayer is our direct line to God. How cool is that?
In the Bible, prayer is mentioned countless times as THE way to connect and communicate with God and seek guidance. In Philippians 4:6-7, it says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This verse encourages us to bring our worries and concerns to God in prayer and to trust that He will provide peace and comfort. God has got your back!
“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Another Bible verse on the power of prayer is Matthew 21:22, which says, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” This verse reminds us that faith and belief are essential components of prayer. When we pray with faith, we can trust that our prayers will be answered in a way that is best for us. Sometimes NO can be an answer to a prayer because it’s in our best interest. That can be hard. Believe me – I know! I’m still single and pray for my future husband every day and so far the answer has been – no! Not yet Lori. I am relying on the fact that God knows best and his timing is better than mine. But geez the wait is hard.
Prayer can also be a source of inspiration and creativity. When we pray, we open ourselves up to the possibility of receiving inspiration and guidance. In Psalm 32:8, it says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” This verse reminds us that when we seek guidance from Jesus, we can trust that we will receive the guidance we need. I know there are times at work or times when I’m creating an Instagram post I am stuck and I just need to stop and have a conversation with Jesus asking for direction and inspiration!
Another of my favorite verses is in Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 and 6. ” Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.” Okay it’s not just my favorite verse – it’s my life verse. It reminds me that I am not alone in this journey of life and that prayer is a powerful tool that can make a difference in my life. All I have to do is pray and trust and Jesus will share with me through the holy spirt the ways I should go. That is such a relief and comfort!
“We must lay before him what is in us; not what ought to be in us.”
C.S. Lewis
Finally, the powerful tool of prayer can bring comfort in times of pain and sorrow. When we are grieving or struggling, prayer can provide peace, comfort and reassurance. He can provide a peace that passes all understanding. You can be in the midst of the muck and mire and have a deep sense of peace even when the arrows are flying! In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, it says, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” t God is a source of comfort and compassion, and when we turn to Jesus in prayer, we can receive the comfort we need.
So can prayer make a difference in your life? You bet it can. Prayer is an action. It’s a conversation with God and it is a powerful tool that has the ability to transform our lives, inspire creativity, and bring comfort in times of pain and sorrow. When we pray with faith and trust to Jesus, we can trust that our prayers will be answered. So, I encourage you to make prayer a part of your daily routine and see how it can transform your life for the better. I’d love to be your prayer partner! How can I pray for you?
